Problems of increasing the quality of specialist training are currently particularly important. Through the example of SUAI the universities’ activity issues are reviewed, in particular the experience of using standards adopted and applied to projects and processes of universities’ activity is shown. The standard 15288-08 concerning system engineering and processes of system life cycle is reviewed. On its basis the stages of the life cycle are analyzed and the process hierarchy of any projects and systems of universities are revealed. The processes in the structural units of the university are described, powers and responsibilities are differentiated, process performance indicators are revealed and data recording forms are developed. Then developing quality management system of a university is built, which allows effective management of processes, activities and tasks at all levels. Internal audit enables to estimate the degree of preparedness of university structural divisions for high-quality work in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008.
