Shkiotov S.V., Markin M.I.

The article examines the competitiveness of the Russian economy in the medium time frame according to the experts of the World Economic Forum. Despite the fact that in the medium term, Russia has significantly improved the competitiveness of all the determinants, the list of its competitive advantages and disadvantages over the years has remained constant. The stability of selected competitive advantages of the domestic economy linked with government support, which was largely due to the high price situation on world commodity markets. The constancy of the competitive disadvantages due to the Russian economy, especially the weakness of the institutional environment, regardless of which country ownership changes very slowly. It is proved that in the coming years we should expect a significant reduction in the level of competitiveness of the Russian economy. With the use of economic and mathematical modeling examines the relationship between the level of competitiveness of the Russian economy and the dynamics of trade flows within the Customs Union. A statistically significant inverse relationship between the studied parameters are established. The authors conclude that the effects of the integration of the Customs Union did not have any significant impact on the Russian economy (because of its size), the level of competitiveness is determined by very different factors and processes.
