Current trends are characterized by the increase of anthropogenic influence on the environment. Moreover, these impacts are mainly manifested in its pollution and the exhaustion of natural resources in economic activity of subjects. Therefore, becomes apparent in the fact that it is necessary to take measures at the legislative level to limit the damage caused by economic entities to the environment. In this work it is supposed to reveal the need and feasibility of the introduction of charges for negative impact on environment in the Russian Federation, to assess the effectiveness of the use of this tool by the state from the point of view of environmental problems and to provide sound recommendations for its improvement.
