The increasing role of innovation as a driver of economic growth of individual countries puts on the agenda the question of the policy of the state in relation to innovation, and to encourage its expansion. Innovations provoked changes in the system of social relations and the production of certain structures of society, as well as the resonance caused by innovations in culture require a theoretical understanding and demonstrate the openness of innovation perspective. The paper analyzes the genesis of the concept of innovation, traced the process of formation and development of innovative perspective in order to determine the phenomenon of innovation. The author reveals and proves innovation as a social and cultural phenomenon.
