The article discusses characteristics of managerial decisions and defines their role in the management process of organization (economic and social system). In organizational system of management, managerial decision is considered to be a result of execution of the management functions (actions of management entity, administrative work). The concept of problem management situation as an unsatisfactory current state of the organization is explained. The most significant factors that define the need of making a managerial decision are given. The necessity of participation of both the management entity (decision maker) and the subject to management (executor) in the assessment of the current management situation and formation of positive attitude is backed up. Possible options of managerial decisions during the implementation of the final stage of the general process of management are stated. A study of managerial decision as the process of finding links between the actual state of the organization and the desired state which is defined by the aim of its functioning is conducted. The basic stages and the elements of managerial process in the system of preparation of managerial decision are studied. The characteristic of administrative work is given. On the basis of this administrative work the process of planning of qualitative and quantitative requirement for managerial staff of organization is examined. Generalized structure (model)of management challenge is given. The most important approaches to the assessment of the effectiveness of managerial decisions are stated.
