Stankov B.N.
Passive solar systems are a sustainable and often cost-effective solution for utilization of solar energy for heating and cooling buildings, but limitations of existing models for evaluation of their energy performance diminish their applicability. Research is carried out in TU-Sofia in order to increase knowledge on the energy characteristics of passive solar envelope elements, and to provide more reliable models. This work is done as part of research project funded by The National Science Fund, under contract DUNK-01/3/2009: “Creation of a University research and development complex for innovation and transfer of knowledge in the fields of micro/nano technologies and materials, energy efficiency and virtual engineering”.
