Specific crime transformation processes take place in Russia, with economic criminality in particular. Russian peculiarity of organized crime is that it originated in the sphere of legal economy by contrast with some West-European countries and the USA where it appeared in the sphere of illegal economic activity (narcotics trafficking, prostitution, bootlegging ,etc.). Economic criminality violates first of all key market principles , i.e. equivalent exchange, law of value, supply-and –demand equilibrium, to name but a few. As a rule, there appears a number of other negative external effects. Economic criminality itself and its influence on economy constitutes a serious threat to economic safety of Russia.
