Ecological and economic aspects of the food security

The article examines the main trends of contemporary modernization processes in the context of food security. Also the article discusses possibilities of overcoming the technological and agro-ecological risks and ensuring sustainable food security by implementation of the best available techniques within the entire food chain. The task of improving environmental and energy efficiency of technologies in the agricultural sector can not be solved only by technical measures, it will require deeper institutional changes, including the use of various tools for adjustment of thinking of consumers, economic incentives and the development of social and environmental responsibility.
