Abstract. The article deals with the problems of modern management associated with the development of information technology, estimated contribution to the development of scientific management economies of AcademicianUSSRV.M.Glushkov.First, his ideas are compared with outstanding international management theorists. Secondly, retrospectively considered his project of construction of information system of economic management, developed in 60 - years of the last century , as well as obstacles encountered in the implementation of its project. Showing similar opposing processes hindering the implementation of projects of informatization of the economy in contemporary Russian society. Thus, it is concluded that the knowledge of past experience can avoid repeating the mistakes of the introduction of scientific -based information technology , management of modern economies, and to rethink and evaluate the role of the scientist in the development of the information society of productive ideas.
